Asus launches G51J 3D Gaming Notebook in India

At last, the world famous laptop makers, Asus has brought the G51J 3D gaming notebook in India. This new G51J has 15.6-inch HD LED backlight 120Hz display that supports 1366x768 pixel resolution and is capable of running Nvidia 3D Vision friendly games. Asus would be offering two models of G51J notebook - G51JX-1X110V and G51JX-1X206V, wherein the latter model is equipped with more memory, more HDD storage and a higher version of Nvidia graphics card.

Asus places quad-core 1.6GHz Intel Core i7-720QM processor that can be speeded up to 2.8GHz with TurboBoost technology. Other notable thing is that it makes use of one specially designed 3D glasses and one special transmitter. Both models sport 2 megapixel built-in camera and for HD movie buffs the Blu-Ray DVD Combo could be like an add-on. Both G51JX-1X110V and G51JX-1X206V notebook come with a 15-inch gaming backpack and one Razer gaming mouse.

For graphics horsepower, Asus has added Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M discrete graphics with 1GB GDDR5 dedicated video memory in G51JX-1X110V model. Nissan-Renault to jointly produce new electric compact car, Leaf

Carmakers worldwide are investing large sums in electric vehicles as they seek to meet ever-tighter regulations for emissions and struggle to pull themselves out of a savage industry downturn. Japan's Nissan Motor Co will begin building the Leaf electric compact car within a short while.

Nissan, Japan's No.3 automaker held 44 per cent by Renault SA, had already announced plans to make batteries for the electric cars and also Nissan and Renault are by far the most aggressive proponents of electric vehicle technology among major automakers, together investing a large sum in electric vehicle projects.

The most notable thing is that this brand new electric compact car, Leaf has a range of 100 miles (160 kilometres) on a single battery charge. Nissan has not yet specified how much the car will cost, saying only that it will be competitive with similar-sized cars with conventional engines, excluding the price of the batteries, which will likely be leased in most cases.

Nissan has already announced production of the all-electric Leaf hatchback first from Japan from this year and in the United States from 2012. The car is due to go on sale in Japan, the United States and some European markets at the end of this year, ahead of a full-scale global rollout in 2012. The Leaf will be manufactured on the same line as the new Juke compact crossover, which enters production in August.

New BMW 5 series to get launched by this year

The latest news from the automobile world is that the German luxury car makers BMW will bring the latest version of their sedan '5 Series' to the international market in order to overcome the increasing competition from compatriots like Mercedes and Audi.

Though BMW overtook Mercedes as the numero uno luxury carmaker in the Indian market, they are very concerned about the upcoming models from their rivals, Stuttgart (Mercedes) and Ingolstadt (Audi). In the indian market the brand new 5 Series will mainly compete with the new Mercedes E Class.

This model is all set to be launched globally later this month and along with that this new sedan may get available in India by this year itself. The price is yet to be decided for the India market. More details about this refreshed model from BMW is yet to be revealed.
