NVIDIA Introducing GeForce 3D Vision Kit

The GeForce GTX 295 is a dual-GPU graphics card that sports a pair of GT200 "B" GPUs—a version of the GT200 that's been produced using a 55nm fab process rather than the 65nm process used on the original GT200.Nvidia did with SLI in reintroducing us to the world of rendering via multiple graphics boards, NVIDIA have decided that stereoscopic gaming was too young to die, and that the time is ripe for hardcore games to don a pair of daft glasses once more in search of an immersive gaming experience.Nvidia has disabled one of the ROP paritions in each GPU, so that like the GeForce GTX 260, each graphics processor on this card has 896MB of RAM associated with it, along with a little less per-clock oomph for painting pixels and doing AA resolve work. Each GPU's 240 stream processors is fully intact, though. All told, the GTX 295 is a beast, with 1792MB of graphics memory and enough theoretical peak fill rate and shader power to equal a fairly large array of Playstation 3s.
Away from the launch of their new GeForce GTX 285 and 295 GPUs, today also sees the introducing of the GeForce 3D Vision system. We may not have been able to play with this system ourselves just yet, but we can at least take a look at how the system works and is shaping up in principle to give you all an early peek of the latest invention in NVIDIA's "Graphics Plus" arsenal.

Nvidia-based Microsoft smartphone

Nvidia's Tegra chip will be used in an upcoming Microsoft smartphone.
Tegra family of processors, the world’s first single-chip computer capable of the rich high definition and internet experiences we’ve come to expect from our PCs, but on small pocket type devices. NVIDIA Tegra is a tiny computer-on-a-chip, smaller than a US dime (10-cent piece), designed from the ground up to enable the “visual PC experience” on a new generation of mobile computing devices while consuming the smallest amount of power. The master of faster graphics processors wants to apply its chip know-how to juice up the mobile Internet device market and the Windows Mobile interface. After a decade of pumping up PC performance, Nvidia is betting a big part of its future on boosting graphics performance in smartphones and fit-in-your-pocket mobile Internet devices, or MIDs.
Nvidia's goal is to pack as much processing punch as possible into a few-hundred-milliwatt power envelope. Notebook PC processors typically operate in power envelopes between 10 watts and 35 watts.
Microsoft says that. "Microsoft has no plans to make a phone," said Microsoft's director of Windows Mobile, Scott Rockfeld, in a statement. "Our core focus has been and will continue to be providing software plus services and working with our partners to deliver great phones. Our partners have been integral in our success to date, and we are excited about the innovation we are bringing to the market together. We continue to collaborate with Nvidia on the delivery of innovative solutions that move the smartphone industry and the consumer experience forward.

IBM's Most Powerful Server Debuts in India

Though the processor is very fast but it is low on power consumption.

IBM HAS RECENTLY LAUNCHED THE WORLD'S FASTEST COMPUTER processor chip called the dual-core POWER6 in india.

With this launch, the company's system p570,which the company claims to be the world's most powerful midrange consolidation machine, and bladeCentre jS22 servers, both powered by this new chip, would be available in the country.

According to morgan stanley, energy used to ower and cool today's data centres represents 44 per cent of the center's total cost of ownership and for a company of any size today,a 50 per cent saving is huge.

In 2007,$10 billion has been spent on data centre energy requirements worldwide, and IDC predicts that power and cooling spend in the data centre will grow eight times the rate of hardware spend. For the cost conscious indian companies, virtulisation and adoption of green technologies is the ideal solution.

The new chip at 4.7 GHZ,is twice as fast as its predecessor, but uses nearly the same amount of electercity to run and cool. This means customers can use the new processor to either increase their performance by 100 per cent or cut their power consumption by 50 per cent, said Manish Gupta who heads the research Lab at IBM

The Power6 chip is arguably IBM's most sophisticated processor, and includes decimal math units and Altivec VMX vector co-processors as well as four-threads running at the highest clock speeds available in the IT space. They offer approximately 50 percent more oomph than IBM's Power5+ processors, which were also dual-core processors but which had significantly lower clock speeds. This AltiVec feature is disabled in the 520 Express machine, but is available in the 550 Express machine and in the existing 570 machines in the System p and System i lines. IBM currently has Power6 cores running at 3.5 GHz, 4 GHz (in the JS22 blade server), 4.2 GHz, and 4.7 GHz. Not all of these different speeds are available in the two new machines announced today.

New Amd 790Gx chipset

Advanced Micro Devices recently announced the availability of silicon targeted at the "performance" for the gaming community. The new 790GX chipset is slotted below the existing, higher-end 790FX, which is targeted at the ultra-enthusiast game segment.

This tiny piece of silicon is so good that AMD's decided to spin it into a new model: the 790GX. With its graphics core boosted from 500 to 700MHz and the addition of sideport memory riding shotgun, the 790GX is perhaps best thought of as a 780G Type R. The graphics upgrades hit the PCI Express front, too, with the 790GX arriving on motherboards designed to accommodate dual-x8 CrossFire configurations.

They said that the 790GX chipset integrates an ATI Radeon HD 3300 graphics processor but can also scale up to high-end ATI Radeon HD 4800 series graphics cards

The new typical motherboard built around the 790GX--priced at $355--is about $90 cheaper than a board based on Intel's P45 chipset.

I think amd is trying to catch gamers attraction to them.Amd says that its value 4 money is very high.
