World's first 3.5-inch 7200RPM 3TB hard drive is here


Hitachi, world leader in the storage solutions introduces its latest hard drive series with 3.5-inch formfactor - Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000. This latest 3.5-inch Deskstar 7K3000 hard disk drive series will comes available in 1.5TB, 2TB and 3TB storage options. It has got a halogen-free design and offers a power-efficient operation.

Coming to the performance review, the 3.5-inch Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 hard drive will offer a 1656 Mb/sec Media transfer rate and a 600 Mb/sec interface transfer rate. This new hard drive series is the company’s first SATA 6Gb/s hard drive and the industry’s first 3.5-inch 7200RPM 3TB hard drive. The drive has also got a 64MB cache memory to boost performance.

Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 will comes available in three versions -3TB HDS723030ALA640 model, 2TB – HDS723020BLA642 model and 1.5TB – HDS723015BLA642 model.
