Android based WePad Tablet Device was announced recently and now the WePad is available for Preordering at the Amazon website. Currently the pre-order was available only in germany and it will be available internationally soon. The WePad Android Mobile Tablet device was considered to be the rival of Apple iPad.
Amazone website offers the pre-order of both the 16GB and 32GB WePad models. WePad tablet device comes with a 11.6-inch touchscreen display which is slightly larger than that of Apple iPad. The WePad MID is based on Atom platform and is comes boosted with Intel Atom N450 processor. WePad also equips GMA 3150 graphics card and features of the WePad tablet device includes GPS, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, accelerometer, ambient sensor, memory card reader and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. It also comes with support to USB 2.0, Flash and Adobe Air.
Similar to Apple's iPad Tablet Device, WePad also available with built-in 3G capability. According to Amazon webpage, the price of the 16GB WePad is around €449 ($598) while the 32GB WePad model is priced at €569 ($757). The shipping of the tablet device is expected to be start by July.
