Along with the MacBook Pro 13 and MacBook Pro 15 notebook, Apple also introduced the updated version of the MacBook Pro 17 notebook in Japan. The updated features of the Apple MacBook Pro 17 notebook includes latest Intel Core Series Processor, nVidia Graphics, Extended battery life, and precision unibody aluminium enclosure.
The new MacBook Pro 17-inch notebook features the Calpella based Core i5 or Core i7 notebook with which apple offers a 50% better performance. The notebook comes powered with either 2.53GHz Intel Core i5 processor with 3MB shared L3 cache memory or optional 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 processor with 4MB shared L3 cache memory. The notebook comes packs a 17-inch widescreen glossy LCD display with resolution of 1920×1200 pixels.
The 17-inch Apple MacBook Pro 17 notebook also comes equipped with 4GB of memory (upto 8GB), 500GB hard drive or optional SSD upto 512GB, and nVidia GeForce GT 330M graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR3 memory along with the Intel HD Graphics with 256MB of DDR3 memory. The notebook also features perfect switching between the nVidia dedicated graphics and the intel HD integrated graphics according to the load.
Other Specifications of the Apple MacBook Pro 17 notebook includes a slot loading DVD SuperDrive, iSight camera, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 wtih EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, Mini DisplayPort, two USB 2.0, IEEE 1394b, ExpressCard/34 slot, One FireWire 800 port, MagSafe power port, SD card slot and a Kensington lock slot. The 17-inch MacBook Pro notebook offers a battery life of around 8-9 hours with the built-in 95-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery.
Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch notebook measures 393×250x25mm in dimesions and weighs 2.99kg. The notebook runs the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Apple offers the MacBook Pro 17 notebook at a starting price of 218,800 yen in Japan.
