Now it is the time of small cars in automotive field . Almost all the major companies now producing small cars among with their large cars. BMW also now is in the same track by introducing compact SUV that is BMW X1 .
One of its concept model was introduced in Paris motor show in last October . With in one year they introducing its road version too. The commercial production of this small SUV is expected to start in next October that is Oct 2010.
X1 is also having the same platform of BMW 3 series all wheel drive.Two variety of engine choices are there for X1 that are 3 li straight six petrol engine and 2 li diesel engine. The expected power for X1 is from 150 to 170 bhp . With X-drive system handling and drivability will be superb. Also X1 will be the first X-series vehicle having Auto start technology.
The expected price will be around 30 to 40 lakhs. The main rival for this X1 will be Audi q3
