Recently MIT scientists developed a new lithium battery which can be recharged with in seconds. The new improvement on lithium-ion battery technology eliminates the need for long recharge times or, in some cases, for larger batteries.
The new battery technology will allow batteries for mobile phones and other small electronic devices like iPod’s and MP3 players and laptops that will recharge to full in a matter of seconds.A phone could potentially charge in as little as 10 seconds, according to the researchers.
These new batteries will be a lot lighter and smaller than existing batteries, and will use a technology which allows for the rapid transit of electrical energy, this technology could also be used in car batteries as well as lots more applications. The scientists said that the new batteries will start to ship within 2-3 years.
