The college of Engineering section of Boston university is trying to develope wireless communication technology which uses visible light in place of the radio waves.Here The data communication capability is integrated to low power LED light.The technology named "Smart Lighting" has more speed and better security than today's network technology.By using this new technology we can send or recieve data at rate of 10 Mb/sec.
Here each LED acts as an access point to the Network.This type of network can provide more bandwidth than the RF technology network.Security is high,since the penetrating power of LED light is low.Power consumption is also lesser than the other networks.The main advantage of this echnology is that the LED can be switched on/off very quickly.
