Alienware M17 is a laptop with a 17-inch display that mainly meant for hardcore gamers.The M17 main feature is ATI CrossFireX graphic card and optional Intel Quad Core 2 Extreme CPUs.Optional parts makes the price up a bit, but basic configuration is actually very affordable, starting at just $1,399.
The recent Alienware M17X had a radical redesign, with a black all-over finish that made the entire thing look like a slab of granite.For gaming,Keyboard and mouxe are very important.But here the touchpad the keyboard are very good.The touch pad on the M17 is more traditional, but is smaller and seems dwarfed by the large wristrest area. Another important thing regarding the gaming system is the display.Here the 17.1-inch wide-screen LCD offers a 1,920x1,200-pixel native resolution, which is standard for high-end desktop replacements.The high 1,920x1,200-pixel resolution means that onscreen text and icons are extremely tiny, but you can also can fire up video games at superhigh resolutions and view HD video at 1080p. 
Gaming is the place where where the Alienware M17 really shines,and it makes an able job of it, with two ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 GPUs in a CrossFireX configuration. While the twin Nvidia GeForce 9800 GPUs in the M17X model got 119 frames per second in Unreal Tournament III at a 1,920x1,200-pixel resolution, the M17's ATI graphics were not far behind, delivering 104 frames per second.
The Alienware M17 provides a backup of 1 hour and 25 minutes video playback on its battery.it really cool about the battery.Alienware M17 comes with a standard one-year warranty on parts and labor, including onsite service and 24-7 toll-free phone support. You can extend the warranty to up to three years for $299. Support options on Alienware's Web site include live chat, an extensive knowledge database, and a page of drivers.So for the hard core gamers it is the choice.

According to me Alienware is a mix of price and performance with optional quad core cpus and dual ATI GPUS.But it has a negative side too.the design is poor for the price.But the gaming capabilities are really awesome.
