AMD Low Power Processors

Digg it !!!

AMD Vs INTEL ATOM ROCESSOR

Amd is developing low power chips for subnotebooks and mobiles to combete with intel atom processor .Now Intel attom processor is using in mobile networking devices

The AMD model number methodology is designed to help end users simplify their PC purchase decision. The higher the model number, the better the overall software performance on the processor. The "+" at the end of each model number indicates the added performance benefits delivered by AMD's innovative processor designs.

Low-Power Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processors are identified by a 4-digit model number. AMD model numbers, based on a wide range of popular industry-standard benchmarks, are a simple, accurate representation of relative AMD processor performance.

In the wake of so much industry support for energy efficiency and products.AMD is also intending on offering lower power CPUs across their entire lineup to be shipped in May. The key selling point of energy efficiency is really performance per watt as well as heat output. With HTPC, silent PCs, and Small Form Factor being such hot topics now its no wonder that both AMD and Intel are pushing towards cooler and more efficient designs.

Energy efficient AMD desktop processors can provide up to 37 percent greater performance-per-watt than standard power AMD processorsenergy efficient SFF AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core desktop processors can provide up to 154 percent greater performance-per-watt than standard power AMD desktop processorsUsing SYSmark® 2004 SE benchmark, AMD reports that their energy efficient dual-core CPU consume 14 watts+.
