46 million Indian online gmaers wait to compete
With ever increasing penetration of the broadband in the country,the size of netizens has touched a new peak of more than 46 million users.The proliferation of the internet has not only opened newer avenues of acquiring knowledge,but has also boosted the online gaming community.
Today,India is not just a gaming content developer for the world but has nearly three million online gamers,who are constantly competing to win the games.These avid online gamers are expected to push the online gaming industry to cross RS.800 crore within the next two years.
Recently the focus has shifted from merely servicing the overseas market to developing the industry in india itself as the potential is tremendous and the players are serious.The developers have already started focusing on developing and customizing the gaming content to suit the local favours.
Zapak,one of the pioneers of online gaming in india have already setup gameplexes(dedicated cyber cafe that gives online gaming services).The company currently has 10 gameplexes and the number is expected to more than double by the end of this year.Moreover these online gaming is a perfect stage for showing tallents and collect rewards for their efforts.However,according to NASSCOM,overall gaming segment(mobile,computer and console games)is likely to cross RS 1,700 crore in the next two years.
