Toyota release 201kW RAV4 V6
Toyota Australia have announced the details about their new car RAV4 V6.The latest V6 variant of the successful RAV4 compact SUV is Powered by the Toyota 2GR-FE 3.5-litre V6, which is the same motor that propels the Aurion, Tarago V6 and Kluger. The new RAV4 V6 is now the most powerful in the ‘compact SUV’ market with 201kW.
RAV4 is the larger,better equipped, with more passive and active safety, and increased performance among the SUV's.The development of RAV4 V6 is the major significant step for the RAV4 brand after its launch in Australia 13 years ago.Toyota RAV4 has now nine formats with the CV6, SX6 and ZR6 being names for the higher end quad cam V6 models. All RAV4’s are fitted with active AWD and Toyota has quoted fuel consumption at 10.5 Litres /100km for the new V6 models. Prices of this RAV4 range from $31,990 for the four cylinder CV all the way through to $49,990 for the V6 ZR6.Five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission is available in the RAV4.This can be choosed.The specifications of new V6 models are higher than their four-cylinder equivalents and six SRS airbags as standard equipment.Towing capacity has increased by 400kg to 1900kg, compared with four-cylinder RAV4 models.
TRD have announced the brand expansion down under with no less then three models, in the initial line up. Everyone knows about the TRD Hilux and Aurion but with regards to the third model, our money is on a supercharged RAV4 that utilizes the same motor as TRD Aurion, which will assist Toyota in lowering production costs.
I would have preferred a TRD Blade Master ‘G’ V6 Corolla, but what’s most important here is that there is a spark of excitement coming from Toyota Australia at the moment, something that has been almost completely absent for the majority of their operations here.
