Intel Atom Z6xx Low-Power Mobile Processor

Intel announced its new Atom platform, codenamed Moorestown, that uses lower power and is ready for use on smartphone and tablet devices. The new platform includes the Atom Z6xx processor (codenamed Lincroft) based on 45nm process and the new MP20 (codenamed Langwell) platform controller hub.

The Atom Z6xx SoC offers up to 1.5GHz for handhelds/smartphones and 1.9GHz for tablets and comes with integrated Intel GMA 600 graphics. The new Atom platform supports Android, Moblin 2.1/MeeGo 1.0 mobile software platforms.

  • New Intel Atom Processor Z6xx based on Intel’s new 45nm2 low-power process, packs 140 million transistors into the SoC. The platform also includes a Controller Hub (MP20) and a dedicated Mixed Signal IC.
