Tata motors, have now unveiled their latest version of the Nano, the world's cheapest car. At the 80th Geneva Motor Show, Tata put forward the Nano EV, the concept electric sibling of the Nano.
The Nano EV is a four-seater electric car with a range of about 80 miles. As per the reports, this car can accelerate from zero to about 35 miles per hour in 10 seconds. The Nano EV has been built in co-operation with the Norwegian electric car specialist firm Miljoebil Grenland, which is owned by the Tata motors.
The main thing to be noted is that the car is powered by super-polymer lithium-ion batteries, which provides superior energy retention. This is the second electric model from the Tata motors, where the first one was the Tata Indica Vista EV, that debuted an year ago.
Tata Motors' is planning to launch the Nano EV in Europe in 2012 and as per the current reports, this electric version of Tata Nano will not make it's debut in the Indian soil since the makers are claiming less availability of electricity in our country.
