Lenovo introduces its new Idepad U550 notebook which comes in the CULV Notebook Lineup. The main highlights of the Lenovo Ideapad U550 Notebooks are the Intel CULV processor, Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS and Wimax support. Lenovo comes with two models under this U550 CULV notebooks- IdeaPad U550-374955U and U550-37495E.
Both the two models of Ideapad U550 notebook comes with a 15.6-inch 1366×768 LED-backlight LCD display. The first one IdeaPad U550-374955U is powered by 1.3 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processorand is equipped with 320GB hard drive, 4GB of DDR3 memory and ATI Radeon HD4330 graphics card with 512MB video RAM. The second one in the U550 series, IdeaPad U550-37495EU comes with 1.3 GHz Pentium Dual Core SU1400 CPU, 3GB of RAM, Intel GMA 4500MHD video chip and a 250GB hard drive.
Almost all other features are common for these two models and that includes a DVD burner, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, a fingerprint scanner and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR. The U550-374955U has the advanced Intel’s Wireless Wi-Fi/WiMAX Link 5150 module for WiMAX and WiFi support while the Lenovo U550-37495EU comes with Broadcom’s WiFi 802.11b/g module.
Both the Lenovo U550 models - the IdeaPad U550-374955U and IdeaPad U550-37495EU comes packed dark brown in colour are priced at $799 and $679 respectively.

I bought this laptop four months ago, and have used it almost every day since. I also brought it on a one month trip to Europe/Russia ? travel being the main reason I selected this product. I love this laptop, as it fulfills my requirements ? small, relatively fast, nice screen, and great battery life (with the larger battery). Remember that you are buying an ultra-portable for a reason.
