Skoda's launches its new Laura in Indian markets. This is the second automobile launched in 2009 by the czech automaker. The New Superb were launched earlier this year by the Skoda. The new Skoda Laura will be equipped with the 1.9L TDi engine which produces 105bhp at 4000rpm and 250Nm at 1900rpm. The new laura also comes with a 1.8L TSI petrol engine 160bhp between 4500-6200 rpm and 250Nm between 1500 to 4500 rpm.
The new Skoda laura comes in 3 engines & 6 variants; 1.8 TSI Ambiente Manual Transmission, 1.9 TDI PD Ambiente & Elegance in Manual & Automatic Transmission, and 2.0 TDI PD L&K in Automatic Transmission. Skoda offer 2.0L PD diesel which churns out 140bhp at 4000rpm and 320 Nm of peak torque at 1750rpm.
The new version of Luara gets a facelift in exterior and interiors. Rectangular headlamps , grille and the front bumper adds more look and stylishness to the new skoda Laura. The interiors of the new skoda Laura comes with new four spoke steering wheel, a new dashboard rich leather upholstery, dual zone climatronic air-conditioning, 4-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, automated sun roof sliders, unique storage compartment along with illuminated, refrigerated glove compartmentand new instrument cluster.
The new Skoda is designed with more safety features including powerful windshield wiper with rain sensors, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), for controlling slippage of the wheels Acceleration Skid Restrain system (ASR),Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to control steering and over steering, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM), auto dimming rear-view mirror etc. Other standard equipments available for smarter driving are cruise control, automatic rain detection system, front and rear parktronic with animated display, Skoda audience radio with 6 CD changer, MP3 playback, 12 speaker surround sound, Dolby noise suppression etc.
The price of the skoda Laura models are below. Skoda Laura Ambiente( 1.9L PD I-4 5 Speed Manual) will be available at a price of Rs. 13,22,823 while Skoda Laura Elegance (1.9L PD I-4 5 Speed Manual) is priced at Rs. 14,66,275 , Skoda Laura Laurin and Klemant MT(1.9L PD I-4 5 Speed Manual) is priced at Rs. 16,10,741 and Skoda Laura Laurin and Klemant AT(1.9L PD I-4 6 Speed Automatic) is priced at Rs. 16,65,500.
