Trend Micro Unveils 2009 Security Suit Reviews,Features.

Digg it !!!

Trend Micro rolled out Trend Micro Internet Security, plus a Pro edition, that follows the trend of reducing the performance hit the security suite will place on your PC.

Trend Micro charges $49.95 and $69.95, respectively for Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, including a one-year subscription. An additional year's subscription is available at a 15 percent discount, according to Trend Micro's Web site. Each subscription protects up to three PCs.

Both suites include antivirus, anti-spyware, antispam, and anti-rootkit protection, a two-way firewall, Web threat protection, plus data and ID theft protection. The Pro version adds a home network protection capability that manages protection for every PC on a home network, a tool to assess the safety of a local Wi-Fi hotspot, and even provides some basic protections for smartphones.

According to Trend Micro, some of the unique protections the suite offers include the capability to scramble the identity of your keystrokes, so that keyloggers won't be able to sniff passwords. The Pro suite also offers some PC tuneup features, as well as the ability to encrypt files and folders.

Like Symantec's Norton Internet Security 2009, the focus this year was on minimizing the performance impact on the PC.

"In this year's release, we focused on developing products that offer smarter protection against data-stealing threats, along with the smallest impact on computer resources," said Carol Carpenter, vice president of global marketing for the consumer business unit of Trend Micro, in a statement. "Customers will experience up to over 40 percent lower memory usage and nearly 50 percent faster boot-up time. Then, by leveraging the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network, Trend Micro offers our customers the strongest real-time protection against the latest Internet threats while enjoying online activities to the fullest."

Additional features include "state aware" protection, so that antivirus activities aren't started during movie playback, Trend Micro said.
